McGlynn’s Bakery Frosting 1 egg white ¼ tsp. cream of tartar 2 T. milk ½ tsp. vanilla ¼ cup shortening 2 ⅓ cup powdered sugar Mix ingredients at low speed until blended. Beat 5 minutes at high speed. Will frost 9x13 cake. (I believe the recipe was printed in the Minneapolis StarTribune newspaper in the late 1980's) |

My family's favorite sheet cakes and decorated cookies growing up in the 80s. Been looking for a recipe or anything comparable ever since the bakeries closed. Nothing. |

What a great tribute to the Family Business. I read every single page and can't believe how many bakery goods our family purchased and so remember the muffin craze. It's incredible how many innovations your family made over the years. What a great story! |
